Rose spent her childhood in Hobart, Tasmania before heading to the west to study veterinary science at Murdoch University in Perth. She qualified in 1995 and worked in a mixed practice in Victoria for 2 and 1/2 years before zooming off to the UK for a 2-year working holiday. Returning to Australia, she completed a 2-year postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Chiropractic. In 2003, after another 3 years in mixed practice, she decided to go out on her own, and Rose’s Veterinary Practice was born. The practice was sold in November 2020, so that Rose can focus on her family and her Veterinary Chiropractic work.
On the personal front, together with her partner Peter, she has two dogs – Border Collie, Mishka and a super-friendly Golden Retriever called “Herbie”; two cats – fluffy Floyd and short haired Ellie; and two human children Josh and Alex. They all live in a kind of crazy harmony on a few acres just outside Echuca.
Since Rose’s horse of 20 years, Prince, was put down a few years ago, she has been too sad to try and find another horse. As well as horse riding, she loves traveling, bush walking, reading and off road racing.
Echucha area only.
